I wanted something abstract but nice to look at. Lately I have been working with faded rays in the background of my art. When I say rays I mean it looks like rays of light are beaming out of the background of the image. You can see in the picture that follows.

I also wanted to go with the color scheme of my office/ spend all my time in room. Those colors are a light/dark gray, a lot of orange, lime green, some black and a dash of red. I incorporated some of those colors into the design of the ps3 skin. I also added some purple to against the green and the orange. As you can see I did a lot of over-lapping with the colors to make it look like there is some texture on the flat surface. Also I think the rays in the background add some contrast to the image with the dark gray and light gray.
As you can see in this image, the skin wraps all the way around the ps3. It does not go on the back or the bottom. The skin is printed in many different pieces on two different sheets. You have to take the pieces off and stick them to the ps3 very carefully, lining up each piece. Now knowing that it is printed in separate pieces, I had to remember to line up the rays and swirls perfectly so that the image would have a cohesive look on all sides. This was very challenging when trying to lay out the art work on the template. The reason being is that you had to make sure all of the pieces of the artwork were the same size and each little swirl had to line up. I think I accomplished the job quite nice. I am very pleased with how the skin came out. It makes my ps3 not such an eye sore anymore, now I think it is a conversation piece.
